that I would be posting more, but that was before I got this full time job LOL

Which I LOVE!!!!!!!!!

I am so happy I had the guts to apply, because it is turning out to be everything I imagined and more. Great team, no stress, lovely clients!

The kids are fabulous.

Aodhan is just amazing. He does something new that just makes our jaws drop everyday. Like the other day, he started counting.....and just kept going. He got to 100, and kept going. He got to 199, asked whats next. I said 200.....and he kept going. All the way to 1000!!!!! And you only have to tell him something once and it sticks in that sponge of a brain he has. Unbelieveable. I wonder everyday how we managed to have such a smart kid!

And that of course poses the question of schools. He will be a kinder kid next year, well he already is, has been in the kinder group since may. Do we go private, or the local catholic school until he is in grade 5 and then change? So, so hard. And we have about 6 months to decide!!!!!

Ciara is such a sweet girly girl. She is such a Mummy. Puts all her dolls to bed, and pats them and feeds them and gives them bottles. Stands there and counts them LOL, dag.

She is continually getting head lice, which sucks. I have tried spraying her hair with hairspray each morning, but I think I am going to have to try a leave in conditioner. We are spending a fortune on nit zapper LOL

And she has the chicken pox at the moment. Only a very mild case as she has been immunised, but has been quite uncomfortable, poor little chick. And I know how she feels, because I have them too! Yeah, I'm a freak. I have had them about 6 times now. Very, very mild, about 5 spots on my hands and torso. Heaps on my scalp and a few on my face. I've learnt not to scratch LOL

What else has been happening? Not much! Father's Day was great. The kids got Daddy a new shaver, which Glenn loves....and has used 3 times today already LOL. Pretty funny when he only sprouts a 3 day shadow LOL

interviewing, applying, stressing LOL. This job hunting sure can be hard.

And because I am applying for mainly government/DHS positions, it's not just a matter of sending your resume in each time you apply. No, I am required to respond to key selection criteria, different for each position, and it's like writing an essay every time I apply for a new one.

And it is so hard to sell youself too. I am notthe sort of person who talks themself up, so I am finding that really hard. I just say what I have done and achieved.

I had an interview on Wednesday for a program that tries to keep people from representing to emergency departments. Having worked in an ED for a few years, I know exactly what they are tryingto achieve. Anyway, I can out of the interview and was not confident at all. But then I get a phone call Thursday morning, asking if it was ok to contact my refrences!!!!! Um, YES! LOL. Was so unexpected!

So hopefully I hear something early next week. Although the interviewer did say that because I had applied for another position within the organisation, things might be slowed down. My interview for that one is on Monday week. I sure hope that the other applicants aren't going to be kept waiting until I have had the other interview. I know what it's like to wait....and stress LOL

So nothing much has been happening here. The kids have both had temps, poor things. Glenn is on school hols now. That term seemed to go on forever. Probably because he was off on LSL for all of 1st term.

It was my Birthday on Tuesday. Had a wonderful day. Went out for dinner and got lots of lovely pressies. I'm just a bit down that now I can't really say I am in my early 30's anymore. This number can only be termed as MID 30's LOL. I only feel about 400 though LOL. No, I dont feel 34!

So Aodhan's birthday is next. July 12th. I can't believe my little man is going to be 4!!!!! He is learning to write at school, which is amazing to me. Glenn brought home a laminated book with the letters in cursive so he can trace over them and then rub it out. He lovs it. So industrious.

I am determined to scrap in the next few days. No interviews this week so I can relax LOL

And I just wanted to shout a HUGE congrats to my gorgeous friend Sharryn for getting her dream job!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You go girl!!!!!

I am still looking for a new job. Not much fun. I thought I had one and then, nope :(

But oh well, it's all experience. Have a few applications to get done over the weekend, so hopefully.

THEY HAVE JACKED ME!!!!!!!!!

I am absolutely honoured, but most definately dont feel worthy of that honour! There is soooooooo much talent out there. I just hope that a few people jack me, how embarassing if we get no entries :(, so please, please, please jack me. At least it has brought a smile to my face, something there has been a short supply of lately :( But thanks girls, you sure do know how to brighten a girls day :)

Thankyou to all of you who have checked in here and left a comment, or emailed me after my last post. I am feeling better every day, I just got a bit overwhelmed by being so sick that I got a bit sad.

So while I am now healthy and happier, I am in the process of looking for a new job, which I think will bring things full circle and make me fully happy. I am hoping to find a position as a practice nurse here in town. Less travel, closer to the kids, 8 hour shifts {as opposed to the 10/11hr shifts I have been doing lately. Makes for a very long day, and I hardly see the kids when I have to work :( }

So wish me luck in pulling my finger out and doing my resume. It shouldn't take me too long as I have everything written down, I just have to make myself do it!

What else is news? Ciara turned 2 on the 6th of April, THAT was a great day! So much fun! I cant believe my little princess is 2!

Glenn is back at work after his long service leave......and hating it LOL. So we are both looking for new jobs. Change is good :)

Aodhan is great, such a funny kid. He is getting to that real boy stage. The other day he stood in the family room, said, hey Mum, stuck his little bum out and farted!!!!! LOL! and then he did it again.

And we have a kind of new addition to the family. A stray cat has been hanging around, it's only young and very cute. Orange and white stripes. So I have strated feeding it. and it lets me pat it now. Buffy cat aint too happy LOL.

Well seeing as I am actually scrapping a LO for the first time in I dont know how long, I'd better get back to it before I lose the urge.

Life sucks. You think you are getting on top of it, and then BAM, you get swept off your feet.

I have been pretty down lately. Ciara isn't sleeping, and Aodhan isn't eating. And I take it personally and think it makes me a bad mum.

But I will get there :)

And now I have also just been diagnosed with pneumonia. FUN! But I'll get there with that too :)

Will be back when I am feeling better.

I've been cooking with paper pesto!

I was thrilled to be asked to be a guest designer for the fabulous kit club based in NZ,
paper pesto for the month of Feb. Make sure you go check out the kits, FULL of yummy goodness.

I love how this layout turned out, a little bit funky!

And I absolutely LOVE this photo of Ciara! She looks so sweet and innocent.....yeah, right LOL

And I love how the MM word fetti look as a frame around this pic.

The kit includes everything you could possibly need to create heaps of layouts. And the papers are GORGEOUS!!!!! So make sure you go check it out, the DT is uber talented too!

I am absolutely flat out at work at the moment. I am working 4 days this week, I am going to be nice and tired tomorrow night. I havent worked 4 days straight since before I was pregnant with Aodhan, and he is 3 and a half now!!!!!

I may be changing my shifts around too, working 2 full days instead of 2 half days and 1 full day. Just because it's easier, and less driving. I am enjoying being back at work at the moment though :)

Well I'm off to hang some washing out :) Have a good one!

LOL, I said I would post more regularily, and it has almost been a month.

I am back at work 3 days a week now, and it has taken me a couple of weeks to get into a routine. And now I am sick, but on the mend with the help of some antibiotics.

The kids are doing really well in child care. Well, Ciara is thriving. Aodhan loves going and playing with his friends, he just wont eat! We are still trying to figure out what to do, so if you have any tips, please let me know. He is a very fussy eater anyway, but is flatly refusing to eat anything they offer him except bread and butter.

Glenn's Dad is recovering ok. He is getting a bit down, which is understandable, so we have all been trying to cheer him up by getting him involved in things.

Glenn is enjoying his long service leave. Especially the other day when all his teacher mates returned to work. It's going pretty fast though, only a couple of months left.

This is his new hair do.

He is going through a mid life crisis I think. The kids LOVE his rooster hair LOL, and yes, it is purple! Cant wait to scrap this one ;)

OK, time for a quick share

These were my projects for really just ribbons this month. Tried for a bit of a vintage feel on this one, something I rarely attempt. Really pleased with how they turned out. Love how funky this one is. Some ribbon flowers, with puffy daisy centres. And I used my Poppy Ink kit, VERY funky and bright. I am still waiting for my kit to arrive this month, it sure is taking it's time, but then again, it has been snowing etc in the States.

I'm baaaaaaaaaaack!

And I have made a promise to myself to get back into blogging as much as possible, just because of the fact that it helps me remember things the kids have done.

Ok, so Christmas was a bit of a rollercoaster.

Glenn's Dad {my FIL} was rushed to hospital on Christmad Eve with Chest pain. Turns out he had had a MI and that he has quite a few blocked arteries. He had triple bypass surgery on Monday, and he is doing well. Will be off work for a while, but thats a good thing.

So we went to the hospital on Christmas morning, and then went to my Parents. Had a BBQ brunch and then a HUGE dinner. Was YUM!

The kids got masses of presents, Santa was very good to them :). Aodhan was REALLY into Santa this year, and that made it even more fun!

Aodhan and I then got heatstroke. We have had some VERY hot weather, and our evap cooler broke down the week before Christmas. Impossible to get it fixed at this time of the year. We have a refridgerated air con in our bedroom, so wehave spent most of the hot days playing in there. Poor little man, it was awful. But they are coming to fix the cooler on the 8th :)

New Years Eve was a quiet one this year. Did nothing, well, a bit of scrapping!

And that just about brings everything up to date.

I will share a couple of LO's I have done.

Havent really scrapped much the past few weeks, but now have some deadlines, so need to get cracking!

This one is my jack for this month. We decided to jack the extremely talented Kim Archer, and boy did she give us a LO to jack! Make sure you pop on over to Aussie scrapjacked and check it out!

But it's that time of the year I suppose :( Cant wait for Christmas, going to be sooooo much fun!

I haven't scrapped in a while, just cant scrap. Even the lure of some gorgeous lace cardstock from KitiQ isnt working. Hopefully tonight!

I have some Christmas DT work to finish off. Maybe I'm all Christmased out, and thats why I cant scrap anything else LOL

We have been the house of ill lately. Aodhan had gastro, then he came down with a virus and is still fighing high temps everyday. Glenn has the virus now too, and Ciara has conjunctivitis. So not only have I been a nurse at work, but at home too LOL. I am really thankful for the medical knowledge I do have though, it makes me cope so much better when they are sick. Doesn't make it any nicer of course, but I feel in control.....most of the time PMSL

On the work front I am going to be working 1 full day and 2 half days next year. The kids will be going into child care. I am looking forward to it :)

Now, I dont know what I have and havent shared scrapping wise, so I will share the layouts I did as guest DT for Bella! today.

I was given the celebrate papers and embelishments, and I must say I was VERY impressed! Nice and bright and happy papers :)

We have a Christmas break-up every friday night for the next two weeks. Next friday is my works celebration, and we will be going to the Titanic theatre restaurant. Both Glenn and I have been before, but I am really looking forward to it as it is a great night! And Glenn's break up is the following week, at the Italian Club, so should be a good night too.

Thats where I have been for the past few days, at the paper and craft festival.

I had an absolute ball! Finally got to meet Sharryn, and see Chrissy again.

On the Thursday evening, I met up with Sonia, Michelle, Louise and Paula from Forever Always. What a gorgeous bunch of ladies. It was wonderful to meet them all, they made me feel so welcome and as though I had known them forever :). I have my fingers crossed that I am going to be able to go back up in Feb and go the the FA retreat :)

I stayed Thursday night in Penrith, and met up with Chrissy at the trade event. I took a couple of pages to the Bella! booth, for them to display. I wont share them just yet, as they will be going up on the Bella! blog :). Sharryn arrived at about 3:30, and we went over to the retail show for a bit of shopping! OMG, there were some yummies over there. Then we popped back over to the trade event.

After grabbing a quick but delicious chicken schnitzel at Panthers, we went back to our hotel and had a few drinks, and chatted....until 3AM!!!!!!! The three of us just clicked, and it was great! It's a pity we live so far apart, cos I could definately see myself spending lots of time with these two gorgeous girls!

Cant wait to scrap this pic, will be off to Kmart tomorrow to print it as my ink has run out :(

I have scrapped a few pages tonight with some of my new goodies, will take a pic and upload tomorrow....yeah right LOL, soon anyway ;)

Last month was my last with the scrap N crazy design team. I had so much fun and met heaps of wonderful girls on the forum there.

I was given some yummy paper trunk papers to play with.

I loved using them, they were almost luxurious, and I really liked using my gold ink on them. Has everyone seen and tried the Bella! inks? I LOVE them! They have the BEST colours!

We were given a theme to scrap to, friendship. So my first page was scrapped for a friend. This is Jorja, isnt she gorgeous! I might scrap this pic again though, not too happy with how this one turned out.

This is me and my best friend Narelle, she is about to have her first baby any day now :)

And this is Chrissy and I in Melbourne after paperiffic! Dont look too closely st me, I look like a stunned mullet LOL. LOVE this page though :)

So thats what I have been doing. I have also been working pretty much flat out, but that has calmed down a bit now.

Another little piece of news is that I finally cracked scrapbook creations :) They wanted 2 LO's but could only have one as the other has already been published :)

Was fabulous!
I had to drop some work of to the gorgeous Sheena from Rasberry, and then was able to have a wander around! {See Sharryns page there next to mine?!!!}

I also got to meet up with the lovely Chrissy, and we got along like a house on fire!

I picked up a few bargains, and had a ball!

I got home and checked my email to find that 2 LO's had been accepted by SM!

I have also been asked to do some guest designing for a couple of manufacturers, that will be heaps of FUN!!!!!

What else has been happening? Not much LOL. I haven't worked in a while, but have just been put on permanently of a Wed afternoon, so that will be good!

I will upload some LO's tomorrow, but for today I will pop up the LO I created for Sketches Oz from the sketch by Viv Bonder!

My wonderful, gorgeous Husband bought me a pressie! A canon EOS 400D!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been hanging for soooooooo long wanting a good camera, and my wish has come true!!!!!!!

So you can imagine what I have been up to the last few days LOL I was stoked to get a pic of Aodhan in midair the first time I used it though woohoo!!!!!

I am still settling into my DT position at scrapworld. I find it always takes me a few lots of projects to get into a rhythm that I am happy with. So not overly happy with these. but you get that!

And hows this, back after just a few days LOL,, see, I keep my promises.

Ok, so today I will share with you the projects I did for Sonia at Forever Always. She invited me to be a guest designer and I accepted with a loud YES!!!!

This is my Maternal Grandfather. He died in 1986, but I remember him really well, he was heaps of FUN!

I was sent some Scenic Route PP. And lots of other goodies, including a little Sarabinder book.

Sonia asked us to do some Fathers Day/Dad and travel pages.

Now this is usually my fave range of papers, but I was a little unsure of these ones.

I really enjoyed doing some pages of our travels.

But I perservered.

And while I am not 100% happy with the LO's I produced, they are OK :)

I also made a little book with the srarbibder. But I will share that another day :)

Ok, I am off to check some noses for snot! LOL

Been so busy!

With the school holidays, we have been sooooooooooo very busy! But I will try and get through everything :)

First up, it was my gorgeous little boy's 3rd birthday last Thursday! It was so much fun, mainly because he was just so into it this year!

He was so funny. All day wednesday he kept asking for his candles and presents, and when I went in to him on Thursday morning he had forgotten about it! LOL!!!!! So I had to remind him!

He tried very hard to wait until Ciara woke up to open his presents, but lasted all of 10 mins LOL. Lucky he didnt wait cos she didnt wake up until 9am!

We had a little party for him on Sunday, and he had a ball!!!!!

And we have to do it all over again nxt weekend too. My Mum and Dad were in Sydney this weekend, so my side of the family will be celebrating next weekend......boy oh boy!

I got heaps of fantastic photos, now I just have the job of sorting through and editing them.

This is Aodhan opening his presents on Thursday! I wont load up anymore, I havent resized them and they are HUGE!

Oh OK, 1 more LOL! His donut cake. He was very impressed with it!

On Saturday Glenn played in the state poker championships in Dandenong! How convienient that there was a crop on the same day! So I got to go! And I met the gorgeous Dee L {we are Dee1 and Dee2 LOL}. It was really good to meet some of the women I have only chatted to online. It was especially good to meet Jane Fitchett, Danielle Quarmby and Shirley Chai. But the one person I really wanted to meet was there and stupid me was too chicken to ask if it was her. Next time Sam!

I also discovered that day that I am an at home scrapper. I like to know that I can create with everything to hand. It was heaps of fun though :)

What else has been happening?

Oh yeah! I got some fabulous news the other day. One of my scrapping goals this year was to get a boy LO published. I have been feeling quite guilty that Ciara has been in the mags, but no LO of Aodhan. I was stoked that SM have finally accepted one WOOHOO!!!!! And on his birthday too!!!!!!!! And it was a page I did for really just ribbons, so was really happy with that!

Ok, thats all I can think of at the moment, but I am sure I will remember something as soon as I hit publish! Will update again through the week :)

I am so excited that I am finally able to reveal part 2 of my exciting news!

But I can share some DT work.

I am absolutely thrilled that I can now reveal one item of my exciting news.

I am so excited to be joining the new design team at Really Just Ribbons. I have a bit of a ribbon addiction, so for me this is a way of feeding that addiction LOL. No seriously I am thrilled to be able to work with Jenny's fabulous stock, and I cant wait to see what our first brief will be.

Thankyou so much for the opportunity Jenny. I am looking forward to working with you. And I would like to say congratulations to me fellow designers, Toni Crane {who will have to get a blog now :) }, Shaz Pratten and Pippa Waddell. I would love to know if you girls have blogs so I can pop in for a sticky beak :)

I have been. The kids have had colds, we have been to the zoo, it has been non stop. But good.

Ok, first up some sneak peeks of my DT projects for June.

You will have to pop over to Scrap 'N Crazy for the real thing :). I loved these Crate Papers, had sooooooooo much fun with them :) Sorry, they're a wee bit disorganised, but you get the idea :)

I have so much work to do, but I love it!

I can share a few LO's.

This one is in the new FK, hope it looks OK :) And at least they spell my name correctly, unlike SM. I mean come on!!!!!! Publishers for goodness sake. I dont even know what gallery it's in, can anyone let me know? And if it looks OK?

And this one is a LO that I did for the Scrapbook Divas CC last weekend. I only managed to get 1 LO done. Sick kids :(. I absolutely LOVE these photos of Aodhan, can see myself scrapping them over and over :)

I am, aren't I? LOL

Ok, so an update.

Well Mothers Day was wonderful. I was woken up at 8:30am to the pitter patter of little feet bringing me breakfast in bed. Bacon and egg muffins......from McDonalds! LOL. At least it was brekky in bed LOL! So I ate my brekky, and then snuck back to bed whilst Glenn took the kids to the park. Was sooooo nice :)

Not much else has been happening, except Ciara is waking full time now. It has been amazing watching the difference between Aodhan and Ciara. Aodhan crawled at 91/2 months and was walking by 10 1/2-11 months. Ciara was crawling at 6 months, and didnt even start to stand by herself until 11 months. But last week she just took off walking, well, OK, RUNNING! She is so quick. She is keeping up with Aodhan really well, andis actually running. And she is already standing up and walking from sitting. "It's AMAZING!" in Aodhan's words LOL!

Aodhan is coming out with the funniest things. Apart from the "It's amazing" comment, theres "Yes BOSS!". He wanted a shower with me last night, so I asked him to get his towel and brin it to Mummy and Daddy's bathroom. "Yes boss" was his reply! Little monkey.

Another funny comment at the moment is "I have an idea". No idea where he got that from, but he will stand there and want to do something he isnt allowed to, and say "Mummy, I have an idea!" LOL, such a cutie.

His 2 year old molars are finally making an appearance too, he is 2 months off 3. His Daddy was the same according to my MIL, he's a Daddy's boy!

I entered a call for design team members at Cooking with Paper Pesto, they are a kit company that is based in NZ. And while I didnt get a DT spot, they have asked me to join them as a featured designer one month. I am stoked about that :) Go hve a look, a VERY talented design team indeed :)

Time for a share? OK.

Well this one is apparently in this months Scrapbooking Memories. Hope it looks OK, I will have to pop out and grab the mag and check it out myself!

This is one that I finished off last friday night. LOVE this Daisy D's paper. Love this LO :) Looking at it now, I think I need to straighten the MM stickers, LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, thats all I have to share, better go get busy. I bought some lovely new papers the other day, and so want to get stuck into them, but have to finish my DT work before I can play.....not fair!

Geez, what a slack blogger I have been :) I dont even know what we have been doing since I last updated. Except that my baby girl has decided to start walking. Still only part time at the moment, but she will walk for a fair distance. She still gets around faster by crawling :)

I entered a guest DT comp at Scrapworld, and guess what? I won! Cant wait to see what Mel sends me to play with. There was also a cyber crop at SW over the weekend, and I have just checked and I won one of the challenges...YAY!!!! This is the layout I did, it was based on a Becky Fleck sketch.

How cute are these two kids of mine? We had a little impromptu photo shoot yesterday morning! Aodhan LOVES the camera, poses away happily. Ciara is a bit harder, but she takes a lovely photo too.

I have had a play with them in photoshop, just added a glam blur to them.

That is the best action, I love it. Makes every photo look professional, makes the skin look really smooth. Cant wait to scrap them ;)

Ciara is slowly starting to take a few more steps. It seems really strange because Aodhan was walking well by now. But Ciara has more teeth than Aodhan did at 12 months.

She's so cute :). My fave colours are in this winter. Pink and brown, and blue and brown. Very good for scrapping ;)

And I have been scrapping too. Some I cant share, DT work, but here are a couple.

These were done for the Guest DT comp over at Scrapworld. You had to buy a kit and go for it. I got 2 kits, so did 2 entries. I am really please with how the girly one turned out. Not too fussed on Aodhan's one though. I think I will be scrapping that photo again :)

Well! Such alot has been happening over the last few days :)

The lovely Tatum Woodroffe has started up a wonderful new blog, jam packed with inspiration. The blog is Sketches Oz and I am on the design team. It is going to be heaps of fun, the sketches are amazing, and I have already completed the first one. The sketch and our interpretations will be revealed on the 1st of May.

The design team is full of fantastic Aussie talent. Courtney Ferguson is a very talented paper and digi scrapper. Danielle Quarmby, Kathie Link, Mardi Winnen, Sarah Mulder and
Tammy Templeton are my fellow designers.

Tatum is also looking for one paper scrapper and 1 digi scrapper to join us. All you have to do is check out the Sketches Oz blog for details on how to apply.

The Aussie Scrapjacked blog is going really well. Almost time for the first winner to be announced. There is also a little suprise challenge on at the moment, go check it out to win a RAK :)

Would you like to see a sneak peek of the projects I completed for my guest Design Team position at Scrappers Warehouse? I absolutely adored the pack Gaby and Michelle sent me, it was HUGE! I was very lucky to get to work with the new Urban Lily papers and the Rusty Pickle Pashmina papers.....YUMMY!

Australia Post.....

I really dont like them. There have been some stronger words used over the past few days, but I will spare your ears.

You see, I have had an order, which was posted to me on the 31st of March, not turn up. I have never had this problem before. And it's very strange that it has happened whilst the usual parcel postie delivery girl is on holidays. And that our mail postie just happened to tell my DH that mail is stolen all the time. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr. So I have written it off, its gone. Not happy.

The store where I ordered it is going to put a complaint form in today, in the hope that it may induce them to find it. I'm not going to hold my breath though. And of course it was stuff that I was really looking forward to recieving and using. Some felt, and a stamp :(.

But can I just say that Scrapapple have been wonderful. Not only is Kelly going to put a complaint in, she also offered to replace the order. I refused this as I would feel terrible. It really is my own fault. I should have registered it. Will be registering everything from now on, so have learnt a valuable lesson :)

Ok, rant over :)

I am expecting another couple of parcels too, hopefully they get here. Some new Heidi Swapp stuff from Scrapworld, and a boxx of scraps kit that I won from scrapboxx.

Ok, better go and do some scrapping. It's back to normal today, school holidays are over, and Glenn has gone back to work :).

And I am officially unblocked!!!! YAY!!!!! Was getting a bit worried there, but it is all good now :)

Yep, I cant believe that a whole year has passed. Ciara turned 1 on Good Friday, and didnt we have an absolute ball :)

Here she is peeking around one of her new toys. Of which she got many, spoilt rotten, but lots of FUN!!!!!
She was also given alot of clothes, so cute. My fave4 colours are in this winter, pink and brown and blue and brown :) She is loving going for walks holding someones hand. If you let go she plops on to her bottom immediately. Wont be long though till she is off and running. And thats what I think she will do....not walk...RUN!

Birthday Cake time. Aodhan had lots of fun blowing the candle out.....8 times LOL

We were absolutely exhausted after that Friday.

Easter was great. The Easter Bunny left a trail of eggs leading from outside Aodhans door into the lounge room. He had heaps of fun collecting them, and unwrapping them......but not eating them! Aodhan doesnt like chocolate....but Mummy does LOL, I overdosed big time and had quite the tummy ache :). Ciara likes chocolate though :)

Well, that was quite a weekend. So glad Glenn is off for the rest of the week so I can recover. I am working tomorrow afternoon though, but that will be a nice escape :)

I made myself sit down and scrap last night. It was at least 2 weeks since I had even looked at my scrap stuff. And I wasnt motivated cos none of my parcels arrived :(. 1 did this morning, but still waiting on 2....hurry up!!!!! This is what I did, very simple, but I wanted to ease back in slowly and carefully :) Very dodgy pic, sorry :)

I know I have been really slack, but I have been MEGA busy.

Aussie Scrapjacked launched and it is already turning out to be heaps of fun :) I really hope that everyone enjoys lifting the people that we choose. I asn't really happy with the LO I did for the jack. My mojo seems to have deserted me. Hopefully it comes back soon, although I have just received a package from the lovely Mel at scrapworld , and I am sure that is going to inspire me.

Loving the Scenic Route stuff, and still loving Crate Paper too. And I have some of the new Heidi Swapp stuff on pre-order, hopefully it reaches our shores soon :)

So no scrapping has been happening, but I have been working and visiting family.

Two of my Aunties came down from the bush to go to my 2nd cousin Darren Sporns funeral yesterday. He tragically died in the Burnley Tunnel crash a couple of weeks ago. Very sad as he and his wife Tean had two beautiful girls. My Dad and all his brothers and sisters went, very sad. RIP Darren.

On a happier note it is my little princess' FIRST birthday on Friday. How fast has that gone? How much has she grown. Really looking forward to it, we are throwing a little party for her. Should be lots of fun.

Aodhan had a sleep over at My Mum and Dad's last night, and my sister has taken him to the Melbourne Aquarium today to see Nemo. Cant wait till he gets home, have missed him so much. It was so strange walking past his bedroom last night and seeing the door open. And I am so used to him knocking in the wall and calling out "Mummy I'm awake" in the morning. He is such a sweetheart. He doesn't get up out of bed, he waits for me to go in to him and we lie down and have cuddles for a few minutes. Gorgeous boy :)

Nothing else has been happening really. I am patiently waiting for some more parcels to arrive.....ok, not very patiently. I hope they come tomorrow, otherwise I will be waiting until Tuesday, grrrrrrrrrr. I wat them and I want them NOW! LOL

Well theres been heaps happening.

The Cyber crop at Scrap 'N Crazy was a blast. Too much fun. The challenges were fab and it was a laugh a minute :)

Has everyone seen the US blog called "Scrapjacked"?

If you havent go check it out. Why? Because I have decided to start up an Aussie version. Should be heaps of fun!

So each month there will be a talented Aussie scrapper selected and one of their LO's for you to scraplift. Prizes will be awarded for all sorts of criteria. BACK TO WORK!!!!!! For one half shift per week at the endoscopy clinic where I worked after having Aodhan. I got the call today, and I am just wrapped! Cant wait, my first shift is next friday morning. It's going to feel good to use my skills and knowledge, and get my brain working again.

Not much else has been happening. I got some scrapping done over the weekend, really pleased with these LO's. They were for the cyber crop at scrapworld (www.scrapworld.com.au). Spent more time chatting than scrapping....let me tell you, these girls are CRAZY! But heaps of fun, looking forward to the next one :)

This one was a single colour challenge. Pink obviously, really love the monochromatic effect. That chipboard flower is from the Bella sheets, they are really good girls, check them out at the reject shop.

This one was a use 7 different PP's challenge. I did it!!!!! Really like how this turned out.

I am slowly getting my very last page for the scrapapple 8 week challenge completed. I cant believe it will be over this time next week. There has been some really amazing work done, some very talented chicks out there. And my pick for the winner? Debbie Mullins, bet you she does :)

Dont forget that we are having a cyber crop over at scrap 'n crazy ( www.scrapncrazy.com.au ) next weekend the 23rd. Going to be heaps of fun!

It will be an overnighter, somewhere in the Bacchus Marsh area and I will be teaching with Dawn Stan....hopefully :) I ant wait, that will be sooooooo much fun!

Well, my Idol journey is over, I didnt make it into the top 30. But I am not too disapointed. Just getting there in the first place is an acheivement I am VERY proud of. :)

But there are still 3 Aussies in the top 30...Chris Millar, Kylie Bailey and Stephanie Lim!!! GO GIRLS!!!!! Would love to see an Aussie WIN!!!!!!

I cant believe that next week is the last for the 8 week challenge. How fast has that gone?! I have loved every single challenge.
This is part 1 of the challenge this week. You had to do a LO about your fave scrapping product....mine is ribbons. I really enjoyed doing this and love how it turned out

Part 2 was to use your favourite product on a LO that includes a fave photo. I love this pic of Ciara, sweet cheeks. I love the ribbon flower I created too. I used a BG washer and tied the ribbons around it. I am in LOVE with thos Crate papers, that was the last of my stash....going to have to get some more!

I have another LO to share but will wait for another day.

I have been busy scrapping.

This 1st one was a challenge set for the DT to do, 60:30:10 in the colours pink, red and brown. I shuddered when I saw the colour combo, but I now LOVE these colours together. Crookedpic of the LO as usual. lol

And this is one I did using the crate paper scraps. I am in LOVE with these papers and really do have to get some more! Love those American crafts thickers too. I am sure they have come out with some smaller ones in different fonts for CHA, so will be getting some of those for sure!

I also wanted to let everyone know that I am organising a patterned paper swap at scrapboxx. You need 10 sheets of unused PP, cut in half, send it to me and I will send you 20 half sheets of different PP. How cool is that. New PP for a couple of dollars post. And if you are anything like me, you have a heap of unused PP that you loved and just had to have, and have never used!

So either sign up at the boxx, or let me know here if you are not on the boxx and want to join in! The more the merrierer, and the more paper we can swap. I could seriously swap with 6 people! SERIOUS!

What a debacle!

Whenever I am involved in something, things always seem to go wrong!

They have had major problems with the Idol entries, people couldnt see the entries to vote, people were credited to the wrong layouts. So MM have decided to compleyely restart the voting on Monday. I will let you know times and stuff then.

So, I just want to apologise to any of you who made time in their day to vote for me. Thankyou so much, and please dont feel as though you have to do it again, I feel so bad about all of this.

So I am allowed to display my entry, here it is in all its glory!

Very simple, but that is me. I decided to use MM papers, not because I wanted to suck up to them, but because I work well with those colours. I am really pleased with how it turned out, especially the little journalling book. It is 4 pages all up, 3 of them turn over. I attached them with Junkitz jump rings.

This will be the same LO that will be on display when the voting re-starts.

I am at my wits end with Aodhan. He is being so naughty. And it all because he is bored I reckon. He will be soooooo ready for Kinder next year, but because he is a July baby he cant go until the year after. So I am going to be finding out about 3 year old kinder.

He is spending so much time on the naughty chair having some time out. He pulls the seat cushions off the couches in the family room, so that Ciara can climb up. Its a fairly low step with the cushions off. And she loves it, little monkey. But I am petrified she is going to fall off. So I have asked him to stop doing that......but he just keeps going back for more!

He has also started answering back. If my Mother ever read this she would laugh herself into an early grave and say its divine retribution. You see, I was quite the little cow of a kid, and it seems Aodhan is going to be as well. But I was never this cheeky at this age. So his answer to everything is "NO", in a very cheeky voice.

So if anyone has any tips on how to deal with this, PLEASE let me know! He is driving me up the wall!!!!!!!!

Ok, better go. Chelle who is the Boss lady at Scrap 'n' Crazy, where I am on the DT, has challenged us to do a 30:60:10 LO in the colours pink, brown and red. I will explain the concept when I post the LO. And the colours? I was a bit dubious at first too, but let me tell you, they DO work!!!!!!! Will get that finished and post it for you all to see.

I had a real moment of self doubt last night when I saw my LO there with all the others. But I have since had my bottom booted and Although I am always going to be a defetist, I accept that it is my style and if it doesnt get through, so be it. I love the LO, its me all over.

Oh, and I also did a LO last night. This one is for the scrapapple 8 week challenge. It is about a perfect day for you. This is mine, me all alone on Yasawa-I-Rara, Fiji. Absolute perfection. The day this photo was taken we were the first off the boat and the sand was pristing, it was like we were discovering our own tropical paradise. Think Brooke Sheilds and Christopher Atkins in Blue Lagoon. Yep, that movie was filmed here, just gorgeous!

Well, I finished and uploaded my LO for Idol yesterday, so its out of my hands now. I wont upload it just yet, will wait until I know I can.

Hi girlies!

I have an announcement!

I am very excited to announce that I have joined the design team at scrap 'n crazy (www.scrapncrazy.com.au) along with my fellow designers Sharryn and Penny!

I would so love for all of you to come and join us there, it's going to be too much fun!!!

And I also just wanted to say a HUGE thanks for all the messages of congratulations and good wishes regarding the MM Idol comp. I still dont quite belivie it. I am going to have my page finished for this round shortly, but wont upload it here as I am not sure if I am allowed to.

Voting starts Tuesday 27th of Feb at 3am and finishes Wed 28th at 10am OUR time.

I certainly dont expect to get through this round. I cant wait to see the amazing art created by all the finalists.

I have been cyber cropping all weekend at forever always. Has been heaps of fun! Two LO's done so far, need to get one more finished.

I have been pretty busy over the past few days, scrapping away

Procrastinating!

I am so good at this! I start something and dont want to finish it in case I come up with a better idea. I have been trying to finish the case I started, going VERY slowly. I did manage to get 1 DT page done though, couple more and she'll be apples! So hopefully over the course of today and this evening I will manage to get the case finished.

There hasn't been much happening. It has been a bit hot and sticky. We had a great storm yesterday afternoon! Aodhan loves thunder and now understands that when the lightening strikes thunder will follow. He's so funny! Probably the only kid who isnt scared by it, but we made sure he wouldnt be. Instead of playing up how frightening it can be we laughed and made a big deal of the clouds crashing! At least if there is a storm in the middleof the night he wont wake up screaming. Well he will, but he will be screaming for more! LOL.

I was having one of those all day chats to Julie on MSN the other day, and things went very quiet. Ciara lets herself out onto the deck, just slides the door open and off she goes. I dont worry, there's nothing that she can hurt herself on. So anyway it goes very quiet and I can hear Ciara P'ing herself laughing. Off I go to investigate, and this is what I found.

She was loving it, having an absolute ball! She was covered in dirt! I said to Julie, do you think I would get away with not throwing them in the bath! Um nope!

Ok, thats about it from me, going to try and take advantage of Ciara being asleep and Aodhan playing quietly!

Haven't forgotten about the circle journal, and will keep mentioning it until we have at least 6 people. You're in Melissa! And Tammy and Mardi, think hard!

And great idea about the notebook by my bed Tam, have used it already! I think my brain starts working overtime when I get into bed, becauseI am actually quiet and still!

I am sleeping terribly at the moment, I get into bed and just lie there for hours. So my mind has been churning out stuff and I came up with this idea.

Anyone interested in doing a circle journal, but with a difference? Instead of waiting months for your album to come back, I thought that everyone could do a number of pages, all the same design, for the number of people in the journal. Say there were 12 people, you would need to do 12 6x6 pages, all in the same design, although you could use different colours and embellies, especially if you knew what someones fave colours were. Does that make sense? It would probably end up being cheaper in postage too, because instead of sending a pizza box every month, you would be sending out 12 A4 envelopes.

If anyone is interested give me a hoy in the comments. Hopefully you all want to give it a go, otherwise I will post at the boxx.

Well I finished my whiteboard yesterday, but decided it needed more work this am, so have been playing with that. Its looking very pretty. And I think it will be a good thing to look at for all my scrappy reminders. I have been thinking of asking the owner of my LSS if she would like me to do a class on it, with a matching photo frame maybe.

And I finished my monogram for the scrapapple 8 week challenge. It's very girly. You know its funny, all my girliness seems to come out in my scrapping. I am so NOT a girly girl.

Whats up with the kids?

Aodhan has started telling me he loves me, with no prompting from me. I always tell him I love him as I am putting him to be or having cuddles, but he always says it after I have. Yesterday we were playing on the floor and he turned to me and said, "love you Mummy". Guess what I did? Started howling, probably scared the crap out of him and he will never say it again.

Ciara is back to her normal cheeky little self, so although no teeth have cut, they have obviously settled down. May pop through a bit easier next time, without as much pain. She's so sweet. She will be playing in the lounge and as I come wheeling the highchair in she goes ferral, does a power crawl, and cacks herself laughing. She will then stop and clap herself! She's so cute!

Ok, better go do some scrapping, have to get my 123 challenge page done, and my DT pack arrived this am too, so lots to do!

I am OTP crazy ATM! I am in the process of alteringa case, a whiteboard and I now have to do a monogram. They are all works in progress at present, but when I do get them finished, I will be sure to upload them. I am really liking how they are going, and really enjoying making them too.

The monogram is for this week of the 8 week challenge at scrapapple. I am feeling very blah about this comp. I dont really have a chance of coming close to winning as there are so many talented scrappers in it, and really just feel like throwing in the towel. I dont know why I feel like this, I am loving the challenges, they are great, very original, and I am loving the work I am producing, but I just feel flat about it. But I will stick it out, I can not quit, I always finish what I start!

I did a quick LO over the weekend, using the pic of Aodhan from the last post. Such a good photo, such a cute little boy!

I love these scenic route papers, have had them sitting there for ages. Really like this LO, looks crooked as usual though. I swear, you all must think my head sits at an angle, every LO looks crooked. It's not, its sits on straight, it's just full of air at times, lol!

Absolutely nothing

going on, certainly no scrapping. Just havent been in the mood.

Glenn pulled some muscles in his back on Tuesday night, doing weights the wrong way. So he has been home, and a dying swan. The doc gave him some meds, I scoffed and said "they aint gonna do nothing", so I sent him back yesterday and said ask for valium. He did and he now has some relief. Silly boy.

Ciara is finally less grumpy and eating better. So hopefully because of that my mojo may come home...here's hoping!

I have a white board to alter. I bought it so I can write down all the challenges I need to complete, I enter so many now its not funny. So I want to get that done, hopefully will be pretty!

Decisions, decisions!

I got a phone call from the endoscopy clinic where I worked after I had Aodhan yesterday afternoon. They may have a shift for me shortly. One 5 hour shift per week, same day each week. Sounds perfect doesn't it? Child care is my fist priority. My Mother in law looked after Aodhan for the 2 days that I did work, but she had said that it would be too much looking after 2. So I was starting to think about my options and decided I would ring the council about family day care. After speaking to them, my MIL rang! I told her what was going on, and she said she would love to have them. I would drop them off and Glenn would pick them up. So if this does happen, that will be great, I will not worry about them. They will be well looked after. And if it does happen, we will have an extra $500 a month in our pockets. That will be nice.

So now I just wait and see what happens. I'm in two minds. I would like to start getting my hands dirty again, dealing with all those medical problems that always seem to happen on my shift. Just call me nurse death. But I dont know if its the right thing to do kidlet wise. I have a feeling it is, will be good for both of them to have different toys and scenery. Just have to convince myself.

So I may be going back to work. And while one 5 hour shift doesnt sound like much, its hard work. I dont sit down, am constantly watching my patients, and will be exhausted. But I think it may be a good exhaustion. I think I need the adult interaction too. And to use my brain.

Ok, enough about that!

Here is a LO I finished this morning. It is for week 3 of the scrapapple 8 week challenge. I am a bit iffy with this one. Just dont know. A shocking pic of the LO as usual, but it was really hard scrapping an inamimate object. You see the brief was red, but NO people! Oh well, its done and thats that!

So thats all that has been going on. Ciara is still pretty miserable, a smidge better this am. Glenn has hurt his back doing weights, silly boy! Have a good one girls!

It's so hot. It's 10am and its alread sweltering. But hopefully will get some thunderstorms tonight. Love storm!

I wanted to get to the post office this morning before it got really hot, but Ciara was just miserable, so will have to go at lunchtime, so hopefully wont be too hot then.

It's too hot to do anything. I would love to take the kids for a swim, but I am REALLY nervous about being in the pool with both of them by myself. Aodhan I dont worry about, he gets in his floatie chair and swims himself around. Ciara however will throw herself forward in her chair, and her face ends up in the water. I am petrified that if my attention is diverted for 20 seconds by Aodhan and she does that, well, dont really want to think about it.

A0dhan is doing OK with the toilet thing. he did another wee on the loo yesterday, so knows what needs to be done. He just hasn't realised yet that its boring sitting there. He thinks he is going to get a car for just sitting there. But at least he realises that if he does do wee he gets a hot rod! I reckon by the end of this I will be keeping hot wheels in production.

This LO is what I did for last weeks Elsie challenge. You had to use a number. Another wedding pic, over them now I think.

This weeks challenge is to scraplift a LO. Not sure who I want to lift yet, will have to go through my faves. But I was so honoured to have danielle77 say that she was scraplifting my style! WOW! And she did a great job too, go have a look at the scrapboxx gallery. I think you have to be signed in to view the challenges though.

And a big HUGE congrats goes out to Julie Dudley. This very talented woman has won week 2 of the scrapapple 8 week challenge! WTG Julie. Fabulous LO too, just gorgeous.

Hot, hot, hot!

Man it's been warm today! And it's goig to be a scorcher tomorrow. Good weather for swimming!

Ciara is still very miserable, but I have tried a natural remedy for teething today, and it seems to be helping. She is nowhere near as grizzly, and even her cheeks aren't as red. She is still gnawing everything, but doesnt seem to be in as much pain. Poor little possum!

After we had been swimming, Aodhan was running around in the nude. he was asking Glenn what "that" was, you know, THAT! So Glenn was telling him thats his penis and thats where his wee comes from. So Aodhan says "I want to do wees on the toilet" AND HE DID!!!!!!!!!! As a reward I put some Bob the builder jocks on him and said he could have a car. He was wrapped, and so was I.

So we were eating our tea and Aodhan was playing in the lounge. I asked him if he wanted to go for a wee, and he said no. Not 30 seconds later he walks in saying "Aodhan done a stinky poo" Oh well, he will get it eventually. We just explained to him that he needs to do poo and wee on the toilet if he wears jocks. So he chose to have a nappy on after that. I dont really want to push him, he will do it when he is ready, and I am not worried at all. So that was a HUGE thing for him, and he was so pleased with himself. We will give it another go tomorrow, and just see how it goes!

I went to a cyber crop at scrapworld last night. I won a trivia challenge and will recieve a Heidi Swapp pack, YAY!!!!! Love Heidi!

There were 3 challenges, one had to be done by tonight and was based on a sketch. Tjis is my interpretation.

Basic Grey papers, Heidi Swapp florals, bazzill blossums, LDD blossum, A/C letter stickers. And I think that was a collections CB swirl. Dont know how happy I am with this one though.

And this one I entered in the weekly challenge at the Boxx. LOVE this one. Had to use hearts and ribbons. Theres also some Heidi bling and stamps there too. SEI papers.

I think I'm in a really girly, pretty scrap phase at the moment, I am really enjoying scrapping these wedding pics. I am really enjoying scrapping full stop! And thats good isnt it!

We may be off to a car show tomorrow. There is a classic car show in Bacchus Marsh, starts at 10. Which means that we wont be able to go until after 11 or so, cos Ciara doesnt wake up until then. So if it's too hot, Glenn will go with Aodhan and the girls will miss out. I would really like to go, but thems the breaks!

On Saturday we had to go and buy an new TV. Now the oven has packed up. But hopefully that is only the element, fingers crossed. Wonder what will be next.

Ok, this next one I love too. I am really impressed with the autumn leaves stamps, they are divine. I got a little sick of scrapping the kids pics yesterday, so pulled out a wedding one!

Grumps and grizzles

Today has been a terrible day. Ciara is teething, she is grizzly and grumpy, wont eat and has diarrhoea. Poor little possum. I wish there was something more I could do for her than paracetamol and nurofen. Hopefully they cut quickly and she gets back to normal.

When she isnt in pain she is playing the funniest game with herself. She pulls a cushion off the chair in the meals area and lies on it and pretends to be asleep. When you walk over to her she covers her eyes and giggles. Sweetie pie.

Aodhan has had a little bit of diarrhoea in sympathy. So I reckon his molars may be on their way too. His latest game is to grab a cloth nappy which I use as rags, and chase the flies around and try to squash them....like Mummy does. And if I say to him "Here comes Ciara wiggling her bottom" he just cacks himself, so funny!

The weather is going to be warm this weekend, looking forward to that!

We had been out all day and Aodhan hadn't had a sleep. We got home and he wanted a snack, and fell asleep mid munch. I love how the chips are hanging out of his mouth. Poor little bugger must have been stuffed to fall asleep with a chip half in half out.

I have a weekly challenge and an Elsie challenge to do over at the boxx, so will be scrapping up a storm this week....hopefully!

Sleep ins and black pudding

We had a sleep in this morning. I rolled over and looked at the clock thinking it would be 6, but it was 8, yep 8, and neither of the kidlets had made a sound. I had to get up then, my bladder lets me know when its time to get up, and as soon as Aodhan heard me he was calling out, and then Ciara was too. It was so nice to have a sleep in.

Does anyone like black pudding? I LOVE it, will eat it raw, cooked, YUM! I havent had any for years, havent even seen it for a long time. Was walking past the butchers this morning, and there it was a familiar blood red horseshoe. So I grabbed one, and ate half for lunch :), whilst Glenn made gagging noises. Yum yum, had forgeooten just how tasty black pud is. I have actually just thought of the last time I had some. In Ireland in 2003. Wish Aodhan would have at least tried it, but I think he is going to be like his daddy.

We went swimming yesterday. Crazy I know, but the pool water was actually warmer than the air temperature, so it was like jumping int a warm bath. Our pool cover is made of this stuff like bubble wrap, and it actually heats the water....a must down here in melb. And the shade sail does a wonderful job. I would post a pic, but cant find where Glenn has put it on the computer.

Last week of hols

Glenn goes back to work next Tuesday, NOT looking forward to it. And the weather is being terrible, its cool and overcast, so cant even swim under the new shade sail.....

Yes, it is finally up! After the poles being put in the wrong place and having to be dug up and moved, we put it up today, and it looks fab! Now we just need a hot day so we can use it. Hopefully next week.

Not much else has been happening here. Ciara is atarting to let go of whatever it is she has used to stand up, she just amazes me. So she's going to be walking soon. And Aodhan 9is just being his usual cute self.

I have been scrapping up a storm.

This one is for a challenge at scrapapple to scrap your space. I love the colours in the urban Lily papers, and I love my paper tolle flower, but I dont love how the ric-rac looks crooked :(

This one is another I did for the 123 challenge blog. You had to use fabric and chipboard, and make the journalling the focus of your page. I am very pleased with this one, especially the photo.This one is a quick one I did yesterday with my new stamps, had to try them out. LOVE how it turned out, simple, thats me! I will probably scrap this pic again in 12x12. I am loving 12x12 again for some reason, probably all the negative space I can leave. And I am also loving NOT using PP, and I'm liking it too.

And if anyone can tell me how to take a good pic of my LO's, any tips would be great. As you can see, they are either fabulous straight pics, or terrible crooked ones.

Slackness personified

I am, but its been too hot and sticky, really muggy and it makes for not wanting to do much.

I have however done some scrapping over the last couple of days. Have taken pics of a couple, but can only share one as the other is DT work and a secret until Feb 1 :)

This is the LO I did for challenge 3 in the Elsie Flannigan 52 challenges over at the boxx. I love it, am very pleased it came out the way it did. This is also entered into another challenge, geez I love it when they can double up!

I am working on a couple more too, just have to finish them off.

We have had the sweet sound of jackhammering in our back yard for the last 2 days. My DH dug holes for the poles for the shade sail over the pool, and concreted them in...... without chacking to make sure they were in the right place. And yep, you guessed it, they weren't. But now that I have worked out where they need to go, they should be concreted in over the next few days. Hey the sail may even be up by the time summer is over. Pain in the BUM!

Nothing else has been happening. Hopefully I will have more LO's to share over the next few days.

I was chatting (OK, whinging to Sharryn about how I suck and no-one likes my work, and she was yelling at me telling me thats crap, LOL) to Sharryn about her recent acceptances, and just happened to check my email. What a huge suprise it was to open it up and find an acceptance email from for keeps! I am stoked! And its a LO that I love, so that makes it even better!

And it has spurred me on. I was getting a little disillusioned with my style, that OK everyone likes it, I LOVE it, but why dont the experts? ( And Sharryns going to yell at me again for saying that). I dont care, I LOVE my work, but I was getting a little down about it, and was going to start trying different things. So, now I feel vindicated, that its OK to scrap my smple little way! (not that it wasn't OK, OH GOD Sharryns going to yell at me again)

Nothing much has been happening here. It was really windy last night, so much so that we had to take down the shade gazebo thingy we had only just put up. It was tied to the rail of the deck and a gutter, and the table, and the legs were screwed into the deck, but it was still lifting off. Just what I wanted to be doing at 11:30 pm last night....not LOL!

We have a creek behind us. Well the creek is dry, but we have a pool of water. There had been a sewerage blockage somewhere in the estate over the other side of the creek, and they were unblocking it. Anyway, something exploded, and the creek was running......with sewerage. Neighbourhood kids go to the pool to catch yabbies, had been there through the day. NO ONE had been informed that there was RAW sewerage in the pool of water. A man over the other dise, whose boy yabbies down there went troppo at the suck up poo guys. We rang the council and water dept. And I think they got into trouble, whichever one was not doing the right thing. GOOD! Could have been my kids playing down there, well no not really, cos I wouldnt let them down there by themselves anyway. It was a bit smelly though.

Quick LO share. This one is the second Elsie Flannigan challenge over at the boxx. You had to use the same word a few times in your journalling. I like it, and I got a chance to use my ribbons from ribbonsgalore.com.au, yummy aren't they?

I'm not. I can't. I suck!

The monthly challenge over at One Stop Scrapping this month is to doodle on your LO. Well I cant enter as I am on the DT, but I thought I would give it a go anyway. I am actually really pleased with the strong colours in the LO, but my doodling just sucks. But anyway, I gave it a go!

This one was the LO I created for the Elsie Flannigan 52 challenges going on at the Boxx. The first challenge was to create your own flower. So I used transperancy and cut some flowers with my sizzix, and used my old friend glitter around the edges. I love the simplicity of this page.

Whats been happening? Not much. Glenn went to a poker tournament today, to play, but didnt do any good. He cemented in the poles for the shade sail yesterday, Aodhan LOVED the cement truck!

Aodhan is a little dag. When he gets undressed for his bath, I wolf whistle at him and say "Spunky monkey." Well he obviously agrees, cos he has started running up to the bathroom door as I am running their bath and he goes...."whooo whoooo....spunky monkey" How cute is that. And then tonight as he was getting his PJ's on he says, "Mummy is a spunky monkey" What a sweetie, I nearly cried!

The 20/20 match is on and Gilly has just hit his hatrick of 6's. Glenn got a little excited....LOL! But I do enjoy the 20/20's. I love it when they smash em.

Well I need to go scrap, so will love and leave you. But finally, in regards to my last post, I know the anon commenters weren't any of my friends, they were gutless, kind of like the people who get threads deleted at the boxx because they take offence. But I'm over it, it was out decision, we are the ones living with it.

Boiling HOT!!!

Man has it been hot here. Hasn't dropped down below 25 degrees the past few days, even at night....thank god for the evap cooler! We also have a refrigerated unit in our bedroom, but I try not to use that unless its really yucky. Theres supposedly a change on the way??? And rain??? We wont see it though, we always miss the rain.

So thats about all that has been happening here, we have been living in the pool.

I haven't really managed to scrap over the last few days, too hot and sticky. But I have had some good news. I have been chosen as one of three winners over at the 1,2,3 challenge blog. Its hosted by Charmane Koch and Karlene Fahey, and I am really pleased that I won....some yummy BG blush papers comming my way as my prize....so thanks girls, if you ever read my blog! LOL!
I also found out today that I won a challenge over at scrapworld with my "this is why" LO. I love that LO so I am really happy that others thought it was good too.

Now on to something else. In regards to the controlled comforting technique. I have had some really positive and supportive comments, and some really mean and downright nasty ones (hopefully none of you were unfortunate enough to see them before I deleted them). I feel like I have to explain myself and the technique a little now.

We were getting really desperate. While Glenn is fab (he got up at night most of the time, because phisically and mentally I just couldnt, what with the PND and everything), it was all just getting a bit much. We were all stressed, Aodhan was tired too, and Ciara was grumpy cos she wasn't sleeping properly. So we decided to try the CC.

The controlled comforting technique IS NOT leaving your baby to cry. It is a technique that is used to teach baby to go to sleep by themselves. Most of the problem with babies is that they fall asleep and wake up in the pitch black, or somewhere else altogether. In our case Ciara was falling asleep on her night bottle. So she was put into her cot asleep. So when she went through the sleep cycle and woke after 60 minutes, she was startled because she wasnt where she fell asleep. I bet you'd get a shock if you woke up somewhere diff? So what you do is cry comfort. I really didnt think I would be able to do it, it was breaking my heart, but she really didnt cry that much. We only ever got to 6 mins, meaning that she had cried for 12 mins in total. And that does sound like a long time, even to me, but its really not, especially when I have heard of babies crying for hours on end.

I shouldn't have to justify myself, especially seeing as we have had such sucess and Ciara is a changed baby. She is happier through the day, more vocal, and exploring her surroundings alot more. And its all because she is getting a good nights sleep.

So to you arseholes who left an ANONYMOUS comment, bugger off and dont come back. We dont like your type round here. And secondly, if you dont like it dont read it, or at least have the guts to comment using your name!

So, if anyone wants the disc, either for themselves or you might know someone/s who will benefit, please leave me a comment, or PM me at whichever forum you know me from, or use the email me link over on the side bar...I think there is one? BIG DAY

Well, we have had a HUGE day. At 8:30 am we decided to take the kids to the beach. So we got everything all packed up and left right on Ciara's sleep time. She slept all the way there.

We didnt last very long at the beach, Ciara got grumpy and wanted her bottle (how, after the big meal of sand she had, I dont know ;) ). But we were there long enough to bury Daddy, build some castles, and go for a quick swim.

Aodhan LOVED the waves. We were at Torquay surf beach, and it was just perfect. Not a breath of wind, so tiny little shorebreakers. Got some really cool pics.

This is my fave. Have just printed it out in A4, and I am going to scrap it....of course!

So after the beach we went and had some fish and chips for lunch, then went for a wander around the shops. Then it was time to come home, Ciara slept all the way, and Aodhan had a little snooze too.

In other news, for the last couple of nights we have been doing controlled comforting with Ciara. You let her cry for 2 mins, then settle for 2 mins, the cry for 4 mins, settle for 4, cry for 6, settle for 6, 8, then 10. We have had to go to 6 mins, and then she has settled......and we hear nothing from her until 6:30am!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So it appears to be working. We had both just had enough. I was existing on about 4-6 hrs/night, we were getting to the point where it was going to be divorce court. So I put my foot down ad said we have to do something. So we did. And so far so good!

And now for my DT layouts. This one was using sandylion papers, and the play was cut with the craft robo.

And this last has a bit of glitter on the brads, and some hand stitching. Some bazzill blossums, the flowers were cut with the craft robo. My handwriting sucks, I am sooooo regretting writing on it, because it looks terrible and I have to send the LO's for display at One Stop Scrapping. Will I never learn?

WOW!!! another year over. Gone so fast!

Hope that you all have a safe, but fantastic New Years, however you may be celebrating!

We will be home listening to all the idiots getting drunk, running amok in the streets, and setting off fireworks from about 9:30pm, if its anything like last night. Hope they dont start any fires.

I have been busy creating these last couple of days, and here are the results.

I love how this turned out. I am continuing my new found love affair with glitter, I am using it on everything. It's on the heart and the photo corner on this one. The photo corner is crystal glitter, and I love it, so pretty!

I love this one too. Look at the expression on her face, It's like "Oh, bugger, I'm stuck" More glitter, on the letters and the swirl.

OK....I'm off now, time for the kids to get up. Will hopefully catch up tomorrow, I can upload my DT LO's then :)

Glad thats over for another year! I love Christmas, I really do, but its all just so tiring!

The kids were thoroughly spoiled, got way too many toys and clothes. Aodhan was really good, he would go around and give everyone a kiss, say thankyou, and merry christmas! so cute!

Ciara was very well behaved on the day, we will not be speaking about the following 2 nights.

And here are the two of them under the tree. I am seriously going to have to move the tree somewhere else next year. I never get good pics cos the morning sun comes streaming through there, and they all come out too dark. We got a phone call from Glenn's Grandpa who lives in the Dandenongs on christmas morning. He was really enjoying his WHITE christmas. Yes you read right. It was soooooo cold here on christmas day, and there was snow up in the alpine country. We had a few episodes of hail, but no snow.

It is still a bit chilly, but improving everyday. By Saturday its meant to be 34 and steadily climbing after that. Hopefully we will be able to go swimming.

Glenn has been helping my Dad put up a carport/pergola for the last 2 days. He wants to get it done before his op next month. He is having a tibiostomy and osteograft to his right knee. So there are a few things he needs to get done before that. Including the shade sail over our pool....hopefully, really need it.

Now for a couple of LO's that I have done in the last little bit.

This is a re-do. I scrapped this pic ages ago when Ciara was first born, but was never very happy with it, so I have redone it, and I now love it. The journalling reads: one tiny hand grasping one big finger in complete and utter trust, dependance and love. It's all worth it!

And this one is the LO I entered for the 1,2,3 challenge. Had to use ribbons, stars and a black and white photo. Love it!

I have a couple of LO's on the go. I have one LO to finish for my DT pack, am loving what I have done there so far! And I have another couple of challenge ones to finish.

Now, for all of you who havent as yet switched to the new blogger......DO IT!!!!! I have uploaded all these pics with no trouble at all. I have had no problems what so ever.

for an update. I left you all with that fantastic piece of news the other day. I one of three proud new mwmbwers of the One Stop Scrapping design team. I am very excited, and a bit nervous too. Hopefully wont get too much performance anxiety and live up to everyone's expectations. I am stalking the postie, he should be bringing my first ever DT pack anyday now. Can wait to see whats in it, and create with it.

What else is news? Not much LOL!

We caught up with some friends over the weekend, that we hadnt seen for 5 years!!!!! We used to go see a band called CLAYMORE with them. Thats the band that Glenn and I met dancing away to. Well, Glenn was trying to be Michael Flatley, and I was laughing at him. My pick up line was..."would you like me to show you how its done?" LOL! We havent seen this band for a few years now, and they want us to go to the quiet man on saturday night. I really want to go, but Ciara has been waking up 5-6 times every night since Mum looked after them on Saturday night. Is one night of pleasure worth a week of pain? But I sooooo want to go!

I really need to get my christmas shopping done, HAVEN'T started yet...scary.

OK time for Ciara's veggies...fun. I need a shower after tucker time, she has discovered the art of blowing rasberries with a mouthful of food!

Hi everyone. Thought it might be time for a quick share. These are a couple of layouts I have managed to finish in the last few days.

I am really happy with them.....maybe I should scrap more when I am tired?! LOL

Well I have just recieved a parcel with my prize from the scrapworl challenge I won, so am off to play with that. If Ciara stops giggling and dad dad dading in bed and goes to sleep, and Aodhan keeps watching play school....what a terrible mother I am!

Its terribly smoky here today, those fires must be huge by now. And its going to be hot again tomorrow. I think we are in for a very bad fire season. Hopefully not, but it doesnt look good.

We're getting there slowly but surely. Ciara's daytime sleeps have improved from 45 mins to 2 hrs+. The tresillian nurse I spoke to said she was sleep cycling and would sleep much better at night if she slept well through the day. So part 1 of my fiendish plan is in action. Part 2 is to get her sleeping properly through the night. She is better, wakes a max of 2 times, sometimes only once, usually at 4am. Hopefully with a little time she will get herself sorted out. The tresillian nurse service is great, and I will let you know the details Jules, for when you may need it. Its a M&CH nurse, on MSN.

There has been absolutely nothing else going on.

I taught my second class to the kids at Glenn's school on Friday, they loved it and want me to do it again next year, which is cool!

We got the kids photo taken with Santa on Friday arvo too. I didn't think it was going to happen cos they both didn't want a bar of him, but we just swooped and got em! And they aren't bad either. Had to get one of Ciara by herself cos its her first chrissy. They have scanned OK too, which is just as well. I need to print them off for Nana's. Bugger paying for them. The single of Ciara was $12, and the two together was $16, but we got 2 photos for that one. What a mint they must be making!

Anything else? Nope. STILL havent done my chrissy shopping......still havent scrapped 4 canvasses for gifts. Better get cracking hey?

And that reminds me. As these will be my first canvasses, what do I seal them with afterwards? And they need shaddow box frames yeah?

And another thing. DO NOT waste your money on the baygon fly baits. I bought some because Aodhan was born in a tent, and I hate fly's. I reckon they ATTRACT more fly's inside. CRAP!

Finally, a big congrats to Mardi for getting an honourable mention in the 2006 masters! Brilliant. And I will be picking your brain next year Mardi, cos I am thinking of entering!

Not much happening!

Not going to talk about baby girls, over it. I tried the offering her water overnight, worked well wed night. But then Glenn goes and feeds her at 1am last night....NO IDEA!!! so back to square 1 we are. She's crawling really fast now too.

I have won a couple of scrapping challenges in the past few days. One was at scrap n save, a small online shop here in Vic. $25 voucher, so I got me some chipboard. Another at scrapworld. That one was to use fabric on a LO, $20 voucher, so I got me some....yep chipboard. None of the papers out there take my fancy at the mo, so CB is something I will use forever.

With the boxx being offline, I joined up at a couple of other forums. Traitorus I know, but what can ya do. And to be in the chance for a $20 voucher, well makes sense doesnt it. I am keeping my eye on Zigzag scrapbooking. 2 of their DT members have recently resigned, so hopefully they will have a DT call. I would love to apply for that.

Now you all must go and visit lildavisdesigns.com Some very yummy new stuff comming out soon. Stripped chip, the alphas, and lots of shapes and swirls etc, look really good. Cant wait for them to arrive here, and I may even try and get some from the US on ebay.

I have been making myself scrap, helps me to relax a bit. Have 3 unfinished LO's on the go. Need glitter for one, lots of stitching for another, and one I have just completely stuffed up, need to change the title.

I got some of the MM ready to glitter stickers and glitter the other day. The stickers are like DS tape, adhesive both sides. So you stick down on your project, then peel off the top and then sprinkle the glitter. The glitter is gorgeous, superfine, but dont know about doing it on your LO.....can imagine glitter everywhere.

Well, have to go get the car packed up, we are off down to Mum's, I am teaching the kids at Glenns school today. Will be glad of the couple of hours off. I know that sounds terrible, but I've had enough. If I have to listen to Ciara squealing for much longer I am going to walk out and not come back/. Bugger, didnt want to make this post about that- disregard, I will be fine as soon as she sorts herself out....and with a lot of hard work from me.

Aodhan pulled a pic of the christening off the bench yesterday. My sister is holding Ciara. He goes.... buby sister and JUSTINE!!!!! he has been calling my sister shay shay (JJ) for ages, but yesterday decided he would grow up just that tiny bit more.

37 degrees here tomorrow, hopefully will get some swimming done. Then rain on sunday after noon, hopefully it will rain where its needed....over the fires and put them out to a manageable degree. All those poor people losing their livlihood.

14 days till school holidays......10 school days.

Crap, crap, crap

It has been. Ciara is still not sleeping and I am exhausted. Thankyou all so much for your suggestions. I have absolutely no problem with controlled crying, and would do it, but cant cos she is so bloody loud. She doesnt cry, she screams.She has woken Aodhan up and its getting really hard to stay controlled. I sit there and think that I shouldnt be feeding her at 3 or 4 am, but she just screams the house down. So I am going to have to suffer for a few more weeks, and when the school holidays arrive, Glenn and Aodhan are going to have a sleep over for a few nights at my Mum's, and she can scream all night if thats what it takes.

So it has been pretty terrible here, because not only is she waking up and screaming at night, but she will scream and squeal most of the day. I put her down on the floor to crawl around and play, and she will sit for 1 min, and then start squealing, wanting constant attention. I am getting nothing done. Glenn cracked it big time over the weekend, because he couldnt do anything HE wanted to, because I had to do about 8 loads of washing, vacum, mop, toliets etc. I lost it. Told him to just go and find something to do, get out of my sight before I knackered him. And then he had the cheek to comment on the fact that at 8pm that night I sat up in bed reading for half an hour. He just doesnt get it, no idea.

I am sure it has alot to do with teething, she has none yet, and I am sure they are trying to come through. So hopefully they cut soon and she will become a nicer little baby.

Nothing else has been happening, 1. I havent got the time for anything else, and 2. havent got the energy. I soooo want to scrap, but I know if I do the pics I have, I am going to do them crap, cos thats what I feel like.

Sorry about the depressing post peoples, but thats how I feel.

OMG she's crawling!!!!!

I cant believe it. Just a few minutes ago Ciara crawled forwards for the first time. She has been going backwards and commando crawling for a couple of weeks, but now she is on the go! Aodhan didnt crawl till he was 9 1/2 months, but he crawled, pulled himself up to stand, walked around furniture and walked all within a few weeks. Scary, now I'm going to have to chase her around.

But hopefully it tires her out a bit more. Thats why I have been missing for a couple of days. I have averaged about 3 hours sleep a night for the last 3. She has been waking up every hour or two. Has been very hard. So hopefully this helps her to sleep.

And if anyone has any ideas how I can get her sleeping properly again, I would love to hear them. How can a baby go from sleeping 12 solid hours to waking up every hour. I have tried everything, massage, keeping her awake longer. I know she's not too cold or too hot in bed, her room is dark with an orange plug in night light. I just dont know. So any ideas, send em my way!

I am teaching the first class at Glenn's school on friday. I am really looking forward to it. But I am finding it really hard to scrap on a budget. Because the kids have only paid $3 each, I am really limited as to what we can use. I will be cutting lots of flowers out with my sizzix in the next couple of days I think.

Well I'm off to cut and try to create!But I will leave you with a LO I created the other day. Really quick and simple, just a couple of lengths of ribbon really, but I like it.

in the hope that Ciara will sleep tonight. For the last few nights she has woken up about 6 times....I am buggered. Once I get woken up, thats it for me, so if its 4 am, well it makes for a loooooong day. It is also really dragging me down. I have strated thinking about going back to work full time, night shift, but then I think normally and know I could never do that. Its just so hard to stay happy when you feel so sad. It makes me feel like I am a bad Mum and doing something wrong. I also get really shitty and think of other peoples "perfect" babies. It's just hard, but only 4 weeks till school holidays, then the pressure is off a bit. Most nights I get up, but my wonderful husband does too, I can not imagine what I would be like if he didnt. He is such a sweet man.

Nothing else has been happening here. Just the usual day to day stuff. I got some scrapping done. One is a gorgeous pic ofthe kidlets, and the other is one I did for a challenge at the boxx, not to use card as the background. Was a bit hard! Love that pic of them together, they really do love each other so much. And I have got heaps of good pics of Aodhan at the park lately, he is becoming such a dare-devil, such a little boy.

I am very excited and proud of myself!

They had a design team call, I applied (obviously, der), and although I didnt get the gig, I am chuffed to be asked to do this.

I may get there yet, although this does scare me a little. What if they hate my work when I do it? what if its crap. well, will just have to make sure it ROCKS!!!!!

we were married...4 years ago, man has that gone fast! It was a beautiful day, the hottest Nov day for a century, 36 degrees (of course), and we were sunburnt before we even got to Fiji. It was just a huge party, which was what we wanted, and everyone really enjoyed themselves.

We didnt do anything, althought Glenn did give me a voucher for a scrapbook shop. Yum! Hopefully that helps my mojo to return.

After my last post, we really thought the vomit had vommited itself out. Not so! I was woken at 3am that morning by the sound of Aodhan retching. His room is adjacent to ours so its really easy to hear everything. (better keep that in mind as he gets older hey?!) So I had to strip his bed again, and it had gotten the mattress this time. Thank god it was hot and for eucaltptus oil. But since then we have been vomit free. And he is slowly getting back to normal, I'd say he is at 98.2%, LOL!

When I was in hospital the other day, the nurse was a girl I used to work with at Sunshine ED, Viv. She was really encouraging me to go and work up there. Its a really nice little department, 2 cubicles and 1 resus bay. 1 div 1 nurse and a doc. They can only take triage cat 3 and below because of the facilities, but they do occasionally get a serious walk in. I'm really humming and haing about this. I feel like its time I got back into it, interaction with adults, using my brain, but theres a little bit of fear there too. Its been so long and I have forgotten so much. I am really going to have to think about it. The extra money would be nice, but for that I will be sacrificing time with my babies. JUST DONT KNOW!

Thanks for your input with the pool thing girls. Ciara has the floatie chair, and I have a jacket for Aodhan. He didnt want to wear it, but I just put my foot down. We really need to stop giving into him. So he wore it, and was fine. So I will feel a little better about taking them both in now.

Watched Jericho last night....how good is that show? Skeet Ulrich is YUMMO! I have so many shows to catch up on. All Saints I havent seen for ages, amazing race, SVU, NCIS.

Well, better go, I need to do some scrapping. I have to do the page for the class and also the door hanger. I am finding it really hard though, because I cant just reach into my stash. The kids have paid $3 each, so I will be able to buy some bella flowers and some brads and buttons, but not much else. We are going to use card thats at the school (not acid free, but beggars cant be choosers), and I have a heap of PP here. I might do the page and then make up a kit for each kid though, that may make it easier. They will then have all they need, and the title and everything can be cut during the class. Looking forward to it, Glenn said its the good kids who are doing it, so hopefully will be fun for them!

I must say, I do not want a repeat of the last week....EVER! I think the bug may have moved on to another house now....not a moment too soon. I think the vomit smell has permeated through my nostrils, I smell it everywhere. There can not possibly be a trace of vomit in this house. Everything has been washed....numerous times...I have been through an industrial sized bottle of dettol....and I can still smell it.

Aodhan was really unwell on saturday. I was about 20 seconds off taking him to the hospital as he hadn't drunk anything all day, when he perked up and started drinking. It was terrible. All my worst nightmares all at once. He was so lethargic, his eyes were sunken and he was just lolling around. Then he started talking to people who weren't there. He was having a full on conversation with Pa....scared the crap out of me. So I said to Glenn, "Right, if he doesnt drink within the next 10 mins he needs to go to hosp." I sat down and tried to explain to him that if he didnt have a drink, Mummy would have to take him to see the doctor. He hates the doctor. So whether that did it, or the cramps (more about that later). So he was fine on sunday, just a few runny nappies.

Ciara vomited a couple of times on Saturday too. But she got off really mildly. And coped really well, little trooper! She was squealing, must have had the abdo cramps as well.

Me? Well, I thought I had escaped. But no. Woke up at 3am Sunday feeling very ill, but told myself I didnt, and tried to go back to sleep. Ciara woke up at 5:30am, and I told Glenn he would have to go feed her as I was not well. While he wasfeeding her I started vomiting. I then spent the next 5 hours stuck on the toilet with my head in a bucket. Not nice. A few years ago I ended up in hospital after having gastro for just 7 hours. I was having muscle cramps and cardiac arrythmias. I must dehydrate really quickly. So at 11:30 am when my legs started cramping, I thought, bugger this I am not hanging around for it to get worse and toddled off to hospital for some fluids. So instead of having to stay overnight, I was able to get home 4 hours later.

But I know now why Aodhan didnt want to put anything into his tummy and Ciara was squealing. The abdo cramps were just shocking. It felt like I was in labour again. So if they had even just a slight ammount of that pain in their little tummies, I can well see why they were in a bad mood. Poor darlings.

But there has been no sign of vomit today! YAY!!! hopefully we will get back to normal now.

Its about 34 degrees today, and hopefully we can go for a swim later! I am hanging....so is Aodhan, he keeps looking up at me really hopefully saying..."swim now Mummy?" I cant take them in when I'm by myself though. Well I could, because Ciara floats in the floater thingy, but Aodhan is a dare devil, and I'm too scared. I would rather have two adults around. Better safe than sorry hey?

I have just signed up to be a mystery shopper. I will go around to whereever they send me, evaluate the shop and service and get paid for it. Not much, but you dont have to declare it, so thats good. And its easy, you just go and do some shopping....LOL! How hard could that be? Will let you know how my first job goes. And if it keeps me in yummy new scrap supplies, whats 1 hour a week hey?

I spent a couple of hours in the chatroom at the boxx on friday night, what a pisser. would love to go there more often, but with Ciara waking up at night again, I really cant handle it, or maybe I'm just getting old? I also hope that all the crap thats been happening sorts itself out too. People are being hurt for no reason, and its just got to stop.

Before I go, I had better wish my gorgeous husband a VERY HAPPY 33RD BIRTHDAY! Love ya darl.

No more vomiting yay!!!! Aodhan got a really mild dose, only vomited a few times, no diarrhoea, thank goodness. I was sure I was going to get it, he vomited all over me last night, and Glenn was holding a towel onder his mouth to catch it. Holding and angling a towel so it sprayed up into MY MOUTH. Yuck!!!!! I was dry retching, it was a close one LOL!

I have almost done all the washing, almost dettolled the whole house. All I can say is thank god thats over!

I am determined to scrap tonight, feels like it has been forever. I have so many fab pics, but I dont want to rush them and stuff up.

I also wanted to send a big get well to Tammy.....hope you get home soon and its all sorted out!

Take away night tonight, might have a gyro...yummy!

And Aodhan is going to meet DOROTHY the dinosaur tomorrow, well if we can get near her at Brimbank Central. Will be trying to get pics of that for sure!

Hi girls, just posting a really quick not to let you know I may not be around much for the next couple of days. The inevitable has happened and Aodhan is vomiting. Walked into his room this am and there was vomit everywhere, even in his hair. Lucky Glenn hadn't left yet and his med cert covers him for today :). So my poor little tyke is OK, pretty much his usual self. I am really hoping that because he has started on an empty tummy its not going to hit very hard. I am trying to push some gastrolyte, but he doesnt want a bar of it. But he has had a sip of water about 20 mins ago and hasnt come up yet....fingers crossed.

So ladies, I need you all to send CIARA NOT GETTING GASTRO VIBES our way. One of the things that used to break my heart at work was little babies who had gastro. I am hoping soooooo hard she doesnt get it, we are keeping them apart as much as poss, but theres only so much you can do. I also hope they dont get it as bad as yours did Tam, I can only imaging how hard that must have been

Well, after my little time out on sunday (LOL), The kids were fantastic monday, Ciara even slept in till 7:30....so nice, almost as if she knew mummy would be a little under the weather!

But then monday night....2:30 am, I get woken by this horrible retching noise...yes, Glenn has gastro! At least he had the decency to stay down on the couch. The Ciara wakes up at 4:30, put her back to sleep, but didnt settle so had to feed her. So that was 5 am. The she decides to wake up for good at 6. I think I got all of 4 hours sleep. So then tuesday Glenn is bannished to our room. The last thing I need is the kids getting it. So I was incredibly tired, and them Ciara decides to wake up 5 times last night. I am so not used to this anymore. Hopefully its just her teeth, and she settles down quickly.

I so want to scrap, have heaps of fab pics just sitting there, but I just dont have the energy.

So thats me this week tired and just cant be bothered.

Well, I found out this morning that my DT comp journey is over. I didnt make it through to round 5. And its strange, but I'm not really very upset, and I think thats because I never expected to get as far as I did. While I am disapointed, it feels like a huge weight has been lifted off me. My eye has stopped twitching! So maybe I was ready, and if that is the case, I'm glad I didnt get through cos I hate not living up to peoples expectations. And I am quite sure there will be more opportunities out there. So thats my entry LO on the right up there, I was inspired by a cushion that had those patterns on it. I love it, I think its really pretty.

The other LO is one I did yesterday afternoon. Another one that only took 2 hours. I was soooo sick of using stars on Aodhan's pages, I just had to think of something else....so circles it is! And I really like that one too. Has a modern feel, all that space and the lines of it. Minimalist.

And I must add that I have been totally BLOWN AWAY by the respone to the eyes of blue LO that I posted at scrapboxx the other day. For a LO that took 2 hours to creat, quite a number of people seem to like it. And that makes me happy, because I LOVE it too. I think it has now become my fave LO. And I would be willing to bet it doesnt get picked up for publication though. I am sure they see my name on the email and dont even look. Buy you never know, all that counts is that I like it. I just really wanted to get a LO of one of the kids in a mag, so they can be a star, and they can take it for show and tell etc! Will wait and see.

Well I need to go and do some grocery shopping, and then we are off to see my Dad's side of the family for the Treloar Christmas BBQ. We aren't all that close, but get along OK. And some of them are ferral. Included are:- 2 heroin addicts, one single mum with 4, well three cos one has been taken off her, all diff dads, she started when she was 16. Lets just say that I was the first on that side of the family to finish high school, get a uni degree, and be married before I had kids. Not that theres anything wrong with being a single Mum, I admire them and think that sometimes they are better off, but not these ones. 4 kids, but about 8 STOP's, heroin use and alcohol use while preg and post preg, one cousin is 2 years older than me, and she has been so ravaged by drugs that she looks 45....no joke. poster child for why NOT to do drugs. So will let you all know how that goes and the ferralness.

Last night we went up to the festival. It was fun. Glenn took Aodhan on the BIG slide, and he loved it, the look on his face was priceless...pics to follow, LOL! and I took him on the dodgem cars....I think he was a little scared, but still loved it! So that was fun. Ok, better get going, catch up soon!

The day after

Well, was a naughty girl and stayed up last night to gave fun in the chatroom at the boxx with the girls. Heaps of fun. I got to bed at 11:45pm, was still awake at 1am, and guess who woke up at 5:30am.....BUGGER!!!!!
Was not happy. And then she proceeded to vomit her bottle all over me.....gross but ok, been done before, just get changed. Not this time....she got my hair! yuck. So I was not going to sit for 1 and 1/2 hours with vomit in my hair, so I had to get Glenn up and have a shower. I really have to get over feeling guilty about Glenn getting woken up. Its his turn I reckon.

Anyway, heres a LO I did yesterday. It took me all of 2 hours, and I am totally in love with it. Inspiration just bit me and I had to do it.

I was going to upload my DT entry, but I guess I should wait until the round 5 people are announced. I didnt think of this before, but it may be construed by some as giving myself an edge if one of the DT members stumbled accross my blog. Not that I think that would happen, but there are some crazy people out there, people who go out of their way to make your life a misery. So I will wait. Still not feeling confident though, can only wait now.

When I logged on a little while ago I was very saddened to read of Belinda Emmetts death from ca bone. So young, but when it gets in the bones, well you're fucked basically. And its a terrible way to die. We women are so slack about taking care of ourselves. I never check my breasts for lumps, and I have had one before. STUPID! When was my last pap smear? Probably 10 years ago...first and last. STUPID! How fucking stupid is that, especially since I now have two little people who are going to depend on me for a while. So I am making a pact with myself that I am going to get these things done.

Nothing else is really happening, have done 4 loads of washing today....cant wait to fold it all up...NOT! Glenn has taken the kids down to main st to check out the Djerwarrah festival. I wanted to go, but am feeling way too tired and grumpy. So i am going to spray the carpet and see if it comes up any cleaner.

Thanks girls for all your encouragement and ideas. Julie the door hanger is a fab idea, and thats what we are going to do!
And as to supplies, Tammy thats a lot of good ideas, going to scour the cheapie shops over the weekend. But you know what? I have a perfectly good sizzix machine with 3, yes 3, alpha's just sitting here. I hardly use it because although I like the alpha's I have, they just arent big enough. So I am going to be able to use that for any letters they need, and I have a few flower dies too, so at least its going to be used.
I am really quite excited about it. I hope that they enjoy the workshops and they get something from them. Even if I inspire just one of them, well, I will be stoked!
Not much else has been happening around here. I pretty much fell in a heap on Tuesday, slept all day. But I needed it, and I slept all that night too, so didnt hurt me. The abscess is going down, but I am still very run down. So I am going to take your advice Mardi. I am going to see a naturopath, and hopefully will start to feel better.
But I seriously think it has alot to do with the PND, you know the PND that I only just admitted I have. For almost 2 and a half years I have been feeling like I'm not me, and I think my body just gave up, had enough. And fair enough too. So I am doing deep breathing/meditation every day. I try and get the kids down to sleep together, lie on the couch and just breathe, and then I do it when I get into bed at night. And I am feeling less stressed and angry. And that can only be a good thing!
So now I just need to get on top of the tiredness. I have all these ideas for LO's bouncing around in my head, and just dont have the energy to put them down. That and the fact that they look so good in my head....but dont turn out that way on paper! LOL!
Well thats about all from here. Ciara is so close to crawling. She gets her little legs underneath her, so she is up on her knees, but propells herself backwards, LOL! But its not going to be long! And she prefers to sit in the middle of the floor and just lord it over Aodhan! Thats my girl! Got a great pic of the two of them yesterday, cant wait to scrap it.
Well entries close for round four of the scrapboxx DT comp at midnight tonight. I emailed mine off on Wed. Not feeling very confident this time around, but we will see! Will upload my entry tomorrow.

The Vice Principal at Glenn's school has just asked me if I would like to go there of a Friday arvo and teach some of the grade 5/6 girls scrapbooking. While I think thats fab, now I am starting to think I was a little mad to accept. I have no idea what supplies I am going to have to get, but its probably going to have to be cheap stuff. Its a low economic area, and the school cant afford to buy heaps of stuff too. So it will be good to help create excellent LO's for not much money. I have heaps of PP that I bought when I first started scrapping, that I am never going to use, so thats sorted, but I am also going to need flowers, and ribbon, and chipboard letters. They are goig to have to be pre-cut. And I am sure Bella have brought out some, did I see them at the reject shop. I think I did, cos thats where I got the 12x12 sheets of 2mm thick CB. And they were like $3. Go grab a bargain from the reject shop girls.

Can anyone else think of anything I may need? Its going to be in the art room, so tools may not be a problem, but if I want to teach them to use eyelets etc, I will need to bring mine, but thats OK.

Should I get them to do it as gifts for their parents? or friends? Heaps to think about!

Each class will be for an hour and a half, how many sessions should I do? Oh god, I'm off to think!

Blogger is being a good boy, so here are a few LO's I have created in the last few days. And I also got my DT entry done, thanks Sharryn for your feedback. So I will email that off tomorrow. Honestly dont think It's good enough, think my DT journey may be over, but I have really enjoyed the work I have done, and am really proud I got this far.

My body is falling apart. I am so tired and run down, and its affecting me badly now. My eye is STILL twitching, I have another abcess under my arm, just a little above the previous one, I wake up and fell like I havent slept, even though I'm in bed at 9pm. SO OVER IT!!!!!

But my arm is what I am most pissed off about. I havent shaved or anything, used depilatory cream, but still a bug has gotten under the skin. So off I went to see the doc this morning, cos I WAS NOT going to wait and have it do what it did last time. So I am on heavy duty antis, have an antimicrobial topical lotion, and I also got myself a chlorhex wash. The doc seems to think that it may be a staph infection, and they are opportune buggers, and because I am run down and tired and depressed, it had taken full advantage. I am giving it 48 hours for the augmentin to get on top of it, and if it hasnt by them, I guess it will be another excision and drainage. But IT WILL NOT get to that!

So I have had a good cry, and Glenn is going to "try" to be a bit more of a help. And I dont mean he isnt by saying that, he is. But its the times when he is sitting on his arse at the table watching Aodhan eat, and he wants a face washer.....and just waits till I go get it. So he is going to try harder at small stuff like that. You know, the small stuff that pisses me off so much, because it makes it look like he just cant be bothered! LOL!

The busy couple of weeks we have had that is! I have been so tired. Even though the kidlets have been sleeping in till after 8am ( thankYOU daylight savings, LOL!), I have still been falling into bed at 9pm. And putting the kids down together so I can have a nana nap! But I feel much better today, so much better I scrapped in fact. I was starting to get a bit worried that my mojo had decamped to Julies place!

We went for a huge 1 hour walk last night, Aodhan made it the whole way, and didn't complain once. We fed the ducks down at the lake, which is looking more like a pond everyday, and were going to have a play on the equipment, except some bastard burnt it down. Ok so we live in a ferral area, but you would think these young people would remember how it was when they had nothing to do when they were young and not do stuff like that. But then again like breeds like, so they havent any hope really. They were probably on their way to the dealer around the corner and got bored.

And thats another thing. I mean they are stupid enough for wanting to use, but when they cant figure out the dealers addy. Yep, 8pm a few nights ago theres a knock at the door. Open it up and theres this total loser standing there and goes, "Is Daniel there?" Glenn just said nope sorry mate wrong house, what number did you want. And the junkie starts getting all agitated as if we really were the dealers and were deliberately not selling to him. Then Aodhan pops his head around the door, and he said sorry and backed off. So a little bit of sense left. But how bad is that, we now have druggies knocking on our door looking for their dealer. I was going to ring the police, but thought whats the point. Just as long as they werent casing the joint. Its disgusting though. Its a really nice area, nice views etc, but then these lowlifes move in and smell up the place. Glenn was pissed! But what can you do?

I'm sure there was more to tell, but I cant remember. Anyway my lifes not as eventful as Sharryns, LOL!

Well, I am soooooo glad the weekend is over. It's going to take a week to recover. Friday we went to Mums for tea. Saturday we had Christmas lunch and also celebrated Nana's 80th. It was a very long day, and the kids were so good! Aodhan was still running around at 11pm. And he slept in until 10 on Sunday morning! The christening was good, the priest was fab, really cool, had an ear ring and everything. Didnt stress about Aodhan running around, told the devil to be out of him, which made us laugh. Nice and quick, no holy crap, LOL! Just the basics, which is exactly what we wanted. Then we went out for lunch, and then said goodbye, cos the Poms went back last night!

So yesterday we go looking at cars. Glenn has wanted a bigger car for a while, and I really didnt want to get rid of my car. 2000 Ford Laser, top of the range, I didnt want to get rid of it for a crap car, and we cant afford a loan. So anyway, we went to Werribee, having a look and the salesmen were all over us. One was a young guy and Glenn was straight with him. Going to have to sell mine privately cos we wont get what we want from a car yard, no money to pit in etc. So this guy goes, well.....you can you know. So he says we will trade your car for this. A 2000 Ford fairmont ghia. Very nice, leather inside, cd, electric everything. $56,000 when new 6 yrs ago. I didnt know if it was too big for me though, so we took it for a drive.....NOICE! It drives really nice. So we said yes, and drove out of there with a different car! Couldnt believe it. Had to put the stamp duty etc on the credit card, but we got a good car for a swap pretty much so I am happy.

Got it home and out mate Jamie who is a mechanic has a good look. The exhaust is rusted, we thought it had a hole in it. The parkers dont work. there are a few dash light globes that need to be replaced. and it had an oil leak. We have to take it back on thursday for them to detail it and service it and the guy had said to us thats why they make you take it home so you can find stuff thats wrong. and so there is. Bit concerned about the fact that he said it had passed a roadworthy though. It so obviously isnt, but they have to fix everything under the warranty.

and its heaps bigger, the double pram fits in the boot with room to spare. So now we can maybe go away! So hopefully we havent bought a lemon! Jamie seem to think we got a good deal, as long as they fix everything. But now that they know we have a mechanic mate, they wont try to swindle us!

I was going to upload some more pics, but blogger is being very slow, so maybe later! But thats us at St. Dominics Catholic Church. Theres a really good one of Father Robinson pouring the water over Ciaras head, Aodhan wouldnt have a bar of it.

Ok, better go, Aodhan wants Cuzz's....cuddles. LOL!

My poor little possum fell asleep on the couch whilst eating some chippies. But he must have dozed off mid munch because they were all sort of just clinging to his lips, half in half out. He was then smacking his lips as well. Too funny!

Well we have a HUGE weekend comming up. Friday, down to Mums to see the crowd, Saturday, back to Mums for Christmas lunch, and then the Christening on Sunday. We are all going to be knackered!

Does anyone know if I should have heard from SM yet? I sent the LO on Tuesday last week, they got it on Wednesday (I rang Aus Post), and I haven't heard anything yet. I so want to email her and just ask whats the procedure, but also dont want to bug her, cos she would have to be busy. Or do I just wait for the commisioning letter in the post?

And Tammy, you know your post about not getting a read reciept from scrapbook creations? Well I dont even think they look at peoples emails to be honest. I have never heard of anyone being published in that mag, has anyone? But I may be wrong. I mean all it takes is a little click of a button, I mean they are in the email anyway.

Well the little munchkin is awake, better go and get her up.

I made it through to round 4 of the scrapboxx search for a design team member! I am very proud of myself, I never expected to make it this far. But that is tainted a little by the fact that a couple of my friends didn't make it through. Sharryn, I'm sorry. and Tammy, sorry too. I can only imagine how disapointed you girls are feeling right now, but I am sure I will be feeling the same after the 10th of November. Congrats go out to Mardi and Megan.

well heres my DT entry, i stuffed up and the second bit has uploaded first, but you get the idea. its an extended LO, and the junkitz ringz were used to creat the flip page, and also as an accent on the flowers.
and the second part was the wall hanging, the ringz join the two sections together.
i am really happy with the first part, very proudof what I did
i am so tired at the moment. my eye is still twitching. pissing me off. very grumpy. grrrrrrr

how cool do these look? been playing around in PS7 after I discovered an article in SC #31 (vol 5 no 4), that tells you how to remove the background step by step. I have had this mag for ages, and it just goes to show how much attention I pay to the articles, cos I have heaps of pics I have wanted to do this to. I think they look great, and I am very pleased. So you can probably guess what I am going to be doing later on....yup scrapping! But I may also go to the scrap shop and ask her if she would be interested in me teaching some classes. I did go last weekend, but she wasnt there, just one of her friends, who did comment on my work, but I need ot from the horses mouth.

Now, I dont want to be controversial here, but I stumbled across a post on Ngaire Bartlams blog and it was real food for thought. She has said how the covers of our scrapping mags are just terrible.....nothing that amazes her, nothing special. and I must say that I agree. But I also think that alot of the layouts are nothing spec either. I know its a very personal thing, and there are some extremely talented scrappers out there, but I dont really go to the mags for inspiration anymore, but to the galleries online. I just dont understand how the mags can pass up some of this amazing work, and instead print very basic, very blah work.
does anyone agree, or do you all think I am a horrible person? I look at my work sometimes and think "thats crap!", but why is substandard work being published? I'm not saying this because I cant get anything published, but I just cant figure it out.

please dont hate me, I do think that the majority of the wrk published is amazing, but there is some that isnt. Do they not get enough work sent in for the themes? anyway, thats my rant.

busy busy busy

we have been so busy since my rellos arrived on Tuesday. Its been really good to see them. We see Anne all the time, but havent seen Teresa since 1991, and Matt and Kitty since 1988! Even though we have been over there a few times, we never got it together. So its been fab to see them. And look at that, FAB has made its way back into my vocabulary! They are on their way to Sale to suprise Nana tonight, so hopefully they dont suprise her too much IYKWIM!

Thought I would share these two layouts I have created over the last few days, there is another one, but havent taken a pic yet. Cant wait to upload mt DT app stuff tomorrow. Hopefully we find out who has made it through fairly quickly. GOOD LUCK TO ALL!

Glenn rang me from work this morning saying theres a gunman in Gillespie road, police everywhere. Then he rings back later, saying it was a year 12 boy dressed as a terrorist, complete with balaclava and plastci gun, for muck up day. He sure has mucked up! Stupid boy, IF he is allowed to complete his exams, it will not be at his school, it may even be in prison. I emailled the herald sun and told them about it, and they rang Glenn to get the story, so they must not have known about it!

I have been so tired lately. My left eye has been twitching for well over a week, and no amount of sleep will make it stop! Its more annoying than anything. I need to go on a holiday, or even just have a massage....yeah right!

And I am a terrible Mum. For about 5 mins on Tuesday night, I wanted my old life back...the one without kids, where we could just drop everything and do what we wanted. We left Mums at 8pm, cos the kids were buggered, and they were all sitting around drinking and laughing, telling stories, and I so wanted to be there too! But then as I was driving home I got over it....guess its just not me any more! I like my mummsy life! So next friday night, all us youngies are going to go out for tea! Glenn Mum and Dad will hopefully be able to baby sit!

thanks everyone for your congratulations, I still dont quite believe it, I am not going to count my chickens. I bet they say no thanks when it arrives. Just a feeling I have. Anyway, its to go in the wedding gallery, so I have no idea which issue it will be in, if it goes in at all.

And Tammy and Julie.....its only a matter of time girls, it has to happen soon, cos your work is amazing!

The phone has been ringing off the hook since 7:30am this morning. Mum went to pick the gang up at the airport, they arrived at 5:30 am (hehe), and they had a hire car to pick up. Well, the hire car exit is different from the car park exit, so they lost each other...LOL! So Mum was rining me from the airport, Justine was ringing me from Mum's, and Anne was ringing my mobile. Lucky there was a street directory in the hire car, and Anne and Teresa actually beat Mum, Matty and Kitty back...LOL! So they are here, and we are off to Mum's shortly to see them. Better let them have a sleep first.

I really want to get some scrapping done, have heaps of ideas, but I'm just not going to have the time!

And I juat thought I would share a pic of the pumpkins from this morning. They love each other so much, so cute....wonder how long that will last? bugger! blogger doesnt want to play, oh well next time!

Starting Over

Well, I've learnt my lesson, no more trying to "fix" stuff up. I am not going to go through and try to post everything that was there, starting fresh!

So now I will spend the afternoon putting all my links, etc in....hopefully without stuffing it up. I think what I might do, is print out the template before I touch it....hopefully will avert disaster that way, although this is me!
